What is a commission?
When you are looking for the perfect art piece but aren’t finding exactly what you want, you may want to consider having a piece commissioned.
This means collaborating directly with the artist to get the size, colors and theme you are looking for.
The end result is a unique piece of art that reflects your desires while showcasing the particular talents of the artist.
how do commissions work?
It starts with a conversation.
You and I would have a chat about what you are looking for, and I would start with the following questions:
What sort of art are you looking for?
Where will it hang? (home/office/business etc)
Is this for you or for someone else?
What general/orientation size do you want?
Are there particular colors or a themes you would like included?
When do you need it completed? (Is there an event deadline we need to meet like a birthday etc.?)
the process
Once we have decided to go forward together with a painting
A contract is signed and a 50% non refundable deposit is made
If possible, we may arrange a site visit. This can also be accomplished with photos of the space or a zoom call.
I will prepare 3 sketches of possible layouts for you to choose from.
If additional sketches or revisions are needed, a revision fee of $100 per layout will be charged
Once final idea is selected, painting begins
Final payment is due upon receipt of the painting.
Delivery fees and shipping are available at an additional cost.
Final piece will be varnished and ready to hang.
